The European Commission has published four new guidelines for teachers and educators on key areas of digital education:
- Ethical Use of AI and Data in Teaching: Guidelines help educators comply with AI regulations while fostering critical thinking. They provide actionable knowledge to use AI tools responsibly for enhancing learning while prioritizing student data safety and ethics.
- Tackling Disinformation through Digital Literacy: These resources assist teachers in helping students develop critical thinking skills necessary to identify, verify, and counter misinformation, promoting a better understanding of digital media.
- High-Quality Digital Education Content: This guideline provides a framework for teachers to effectively select, evaluate, create, and use digital content in classrooms, ensuring it meets specific pedagogical quality criteria.
- Teaching High-Quality Informatics: Developed with expert input, this area provides foundational support for educators to teach computing concepts, helping students understand digital systems, coding, and informatics principles.
And on the 12 May from 10 to 11 Central European Time the Digital Education hub is holding the latest in its series on webinars. In this webinar on Fostering digital literacy and tackling disinformation, the co-authors of the updated Guidelines for teachers to tackle disinformation and foster digital literacy will share practical tips and ideas for the classroom.
