Recording of the Webinar on AI in Citizenship is Now Available!
On November 27, 2024, the AI Pioneers 4th Consultation Seminar brought educators, innovators, and thought leaders to explore AI Citizenship in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The event began with an overview of the AI Pioneers Project by Lisa Meyne, followed by Ana Dias’ presentation on Communities of Practice (CoP) in AI Education across partner countries.
The seminar’s highlight was a keynote by George Bekiaridis and Graham Attwell titled “AI Citizenship in VET”. This session explored key issues, including:
- Balancing learner agency with AI-driven support.
- Navigating the challenges and opportunities in AI-enhanced learning environments.
- Understanding the societal impacts of AI and the importance of AI literacy in VET.
- Addressing ethical dilemmas and promoting inclusivity in AI systems for education.
The seminar attracted 49 registrations from 18 countries, with 27 participants engaging in vibrant discussions. This gathering underscored the transformative potential of AI in education and emphasized the need for ethical, inclusive, and well-informed AI practices. The event wasn’t just a discussion – it was a step toward building a global network of AI educators and professionals, united by a shared vision of harnessing AI to empower learners while fostering ethical standards.
