Call for Researchers: Shape the Future of AI in Education with UNESCO and the European Commission

A new joint UNESCO-European Commission project is looking at the intersection of artificial intelligence and education? And they are seeking dedicated researchers to conduct AS-IS and Gap Analyses for the "FutureProof Education: Supporting schools in the AI evolution" project.
About the Project
The 'FutureProof Education project' is a collaborative initiative that brings together six European education systems. Its primary goal is to promote the ethical, meaningful, and safe integration of AI in schools. This will be achieved by developing evidence-based strategies, tools, and guidance for teachers, school leaders, and education authorities.
This project is funded by the European Union through the Technical Support Instrument and is a close collaboration with the following partners:
•Ministry of Education and Training (Belgium)
•Ministère de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium)
•Ministry for Schools and Education of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany)
•Department of Education and Youth (Ireland)
•Ministère de l'Éducation nationale, de l'Enfance et de la Jeunesse (Luxembourg)
•Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket - Sweden)
The Opportunity for Researchers
UNESCO is looking for local researchers to perform in-depth research and analysis on the current state of AI in education within each of the participating education systems. This is seen as a unique chance to contribute to a project with a wide-reaching impact on the future of education in Europe.

About the Image
Two knowledge workers, running inside a wheel embedded within a computer mouse, struggles to keep pace as a powerful hand (representing employers or capitalistic forces). The image reveals that despite AI and digital adoption, rising productivity expectations often trap workers into producing more with less. Rather than easing labour, AI technologies risks raising the baseline demands, accelerating the pace of work under the illusion of progress. This image was selected as a winner in the Digital Dialogues Art Competition, which was run in partnership with the ESRC Centre for Digital Futures at Work Research Centre (Digit) and supported by the UKRI ESRC.o
