Dr. Ludger Deitmer and Iven Dersch visited Wolfsburg vocational school on 14 September 2023 to present practical examples of the use of artificial intelligence. Head of department Stefan Manemann presented designed teaching units that address the topic of AI and are aimed at students from the subjects of electrical engineering and mechatronics. In this practical example, the topic of AI is linked to the topic of sustainability. In terms of content, the teaching units relate to the monitoring of building data, for example, which is used in conjunction with AI software for sustainable energy management. The software analyzes the data for unusual changes, e.g. an unusual drop in temperature due to an open window or a sudden change in power consumption, and generates error messages.
