Concept development and implementation strategies for AI in VET – workshop in Bremen
On November 6, 2024, the Institute of Technology and Education (ITB) represented by Dr. Ludger Deitmer, Frieda Klaus, Lisa Meyne and Dr. Christine Siemer, organized a workshop to develop a practice-oriented concept for the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in vocational education and training together with experts in the field of artificial intelligence for the German Community of Practice (CoP). At the beginning, Dr. Ludger Deitmer and Dr. Christine Siemer presented the objectives and activities of the AI Pioneers project.
Afterwards, Florian Beier from the vocational school in Neustadt (Hanover) gave a keynote speech to provide insights into computer vision using AI tools in the context of process-controlled industrial robotics.
The focus here was on a didactic and practical professional analysis as well as the in-house development of a Python program with artificial neural networks. Over the course of the workshop, the participants worked together in three working groups to identify relevant topics that need to be considered when implementing AI in vocational education and training schools and in companies, based on the three phases (1) goal setting and impact assessment, (2) planning and design, and (3) preparation and implementation.
We would like to thank all participants for a workshop full of discussion and insight!
The workshop results will soon be available to all network partners on the project website.
