AI Pioneers > European Reference Network of AI Pioneers (WP2)
European Reference Network of AI Pioneers focuses on building and sustaining a pan-European network of leading teachers, trainers, educational planners, stakeholders, and policy makers actively engaged in the use of Artificial Intelligence in education and training. Over the project’s lifetime, WP2 establishes the foundations of the network by defining its objectives and guidelines, recruiting AI pioneers from across all European countries, and ensuring broad geographical and institutional representation. The network is designed to empower its members to act as reference points for AI in education within their institutions and national contexts, fostering leadership, innovation, and evidence-based adoption of AI practices.
To support collaboration and long-term impact, WP2 develops a dedicated digital infrastructure and facilitates an active Community of Practice. Through an open-source online platform, regular webinars, consultation seminars, online study visits, and demonstrations of best practices, members are supported to exchange knowledge, address ethical and pedagogical challenges, and co-create solutions. WP2 also provides practical guidance on how to establish and sustain national and international Communities of Practice, ensuring alignment with European frameworks and initiatives. By the end of the project, WP2 delivers a mature, well-connected European Reference Network of AI Pioneers that continues to grow beyond the project and contributes to the sustainable integration of AI in education and training systems across Europe.
